UVU Roots Of Knowledge 2.2.2

This app serves as a companion to the Utah Valley University (UVU) Roots of Knowledge (ROK) stained glass panorama, showcasing a historical narrative filled with human drama. Each window is meticulously crafted, reflecting extensive research on pivotal events and influential figures that have shaped humanity, spanning from the era of woolly mammoths and cavemen to the digital age.

The journey commences with a striking portrayal of one of the world’s oldest living trees – the bristlecone pine Methuselah – set in spring. Its roots and branches unfurl through the panels, weaving a chronological tapestry akin to strands of a DNA chain. Methuselah converges with A Tree of Life, embodying diverse interpretations of the world's beginnings.

The windows abound with vibrant hues and historical significance. In one window, key figures from the 13th and 14th centuries are rendered, including Kublai Khan of the Mongol Empire, the grand Mosque of Isfahan in Iran, Dante Alighieri - known as “the Father of the Italian Language,” and the University of Krakow, Poland's oldest university where Copernicus once studied. Another window delves into the late 1800s to early 1900s, featuring a poignant quote by Cuban revolutionary Jose Julian Marti, portraits of luminaries such as Marie Curie and Henrik Ibsen, a Parisian kiosk, and the revered Indian hornbill - emblematic of the Bombay Natural History Society.
